Up, up and away...

I will never tire of seeing the early morning hot air balloons hovering above Melbourne in the early morning.

As you can see in the top photo, some days they're quite close to my window, while other mornings they float closer to the horizon, as if to catch the spectacular sunrise in more detail.

Autumn is generally a pretty wonderful time of year in Melbourne as the sun starts tracking a different line in the sky. At the moment it's at such a level that it shines right on my shoulder at about 7:30am every morning, casting a warm amber light over my desk as I log in each day. I have colleagues that arrive at work and draw the shades to stop the glare so I try to make the most of it while I have it.
