9pm, Federation Square, Melbourne

My friend Dan over at the Rocketdog & Bulldozer blog reckons this photo doesn't look at all impressive and doesn't do this art installation justice. I beg to differ.
Basically, what we're looking at here is a giant replica sun (giant by human standards, obviously) that's hanging in the midst of a public square in Melbourne. It's called The Solar Equation and as with everything nowadays, you can download an iPhone app that allows you to control the virtual solar flares.

It's part of a celebration called The Light in Winter that ends this Sunday. And despite what Dan says, it's as awesome as my picture.
